Question: True or False? A player can be relieved of command by the Race Leader? Lets say Shalafi or Dfly order me to do an order and I refuse,.. besides the shame, disdaine of my fellow players, poor ratings for future games, etc. Are there any real world consequences? I am thinking,.. lets say they tell me "The focus of our attacks is at the other end of our nation, hold your defensive position". So in holding,.. I """"inadvertently"""" (ya know missplotted a hex or two) enter the nuetral zone while scouting the border with my scout fleet for an extended look into enemy space,.... Could I be relieved of command if intercepted by an enemy fleet and lose my shirt ? Just curious,.. not that I would ever do that ;D

Well, since you just lost your shirt , and any red shirt officer you had, you would no longer control any of those ships since they are now a gonner , Why would I relieve you of command of NOTHING ;D MUAHAHAHAH. If uncertain of your ability to lead nothing, time to look at the first picture below this(joke only)

LOL,... just trying to figure out exactly how much trouble a front line commander could cause and still stay in the boundry of maintaining his command.
For example if I changed teams "I hope" there is some structure in there that would disallow that. Ref intervention or something. Still I can see commanders warping the orders one way or tother, myself included. LOL !
The question is, where is the line that drawn in that sand.
We put ourselves in the hands of George a worthy and honorable Ref,.. ?

It would not only involve the Ref, but your rules have nothing within them to override or contravene anything like that. One of the things I have so often seen is that the "REF" is the one who runs it, and chooses his own rules, and then implements them. Once they are there, it is his choice on his way of interpreting and using those rules. On our rule systems, they are voted on before implemented into the rules, and they are a conglomeration of ideas from multiple people before they even get voted on. This is quite different from what I am used to.
I personally think we should add a section called "ref's RULES", where the ref can have what he wants within his campaign, and how he plans on handling some stuff. I dont mean gamebreakers, but things such as what you are proposing can happen, and similar stuff.

I like the ideal of a genral ref section that allows him to deal with the unanticipated event.
CYA Cover Your Ass rule
Add that to the rules section !!
