Unless they are shipping a nice headset for cheap, christ you'll save like a dollar ? Mic's are soo cheap it is silly. A nice headset with voice activation is cool in battle though, having to hit a Key to talk during combat can flub my already poor manuevering

You can use voice activation on any mic with TS. Go Settings -> Sound Input/Output Settings then select Voice Activation and set the threshold.

Ya but unless you tape it to your cheek it activates during the music or explosions of the game,.. then everyone gets a mess on the sound as your mic kicks in and out when not needed.

Scott, it is just a matter of turning the music levels down within the game. Even George knows how to do that ehehe.

Noise and lights are distractions. I already have it tough versus the "elites" and the "journeyman" players kick my butt regularly

I need to hear when my tractors are in defencive mode, or not, and when my phaser defencive mode is on or not. These 2 are most important to me. Next would be hearing the firing of drones/plasmas/ppd/photons/dizzies. If I could keep those sound effects and lose the music I would be happy. HMM>. Perhaps I should just look up the file with the music, or the link to it, and move the file or disconnect that link. Leave the sound effect links, just take out the music link. HMM. I will have to look into that.
Oh ya, the other sound I like to hear. The sound of someone else's ship blowing up, or breaking down during a HET, or even just hearing the HET.

Two ways to do that D: Just erase your assets/sound/sfcmusic.zip file or go to you sfc.ini (on the same folder the starfleetOP.exe is) and put a 0 next to MusicVolume.
