I can only hope that at least 2 things change in our next campaign. #1 blockade rules. # 2always penalizing the "ace" pilots for their skill. If we continue to "even the battlefield" . What is the incentive to become a better pilot? I know i am not an ace and never will be. But playing against a ACE is still fun. I learn more playing against them with even bvp than with me flying a "better" ship. forcing them to fly the lesser ships in open battles is understandable. As each nations leaders should fly their best ship. However giving only enough money to get CL's and frigates vs Ca class and even dreadnoughts. Is overkill. As for blockade rules i still think that if you want to stop a base from doing it's mission. Then bring enough fire power to do it, or go home ! Blockading a base takes away the advantage of defensive play. And economically unbalances the game.

I have plans for the next campaign, but may rethink my campaign. If Roman took on D'Fly at even odds it would be a slaughter. Like you, I will never be any better than I am now. One-on-one, I cannot best any of the elite pilots. Mav and I even skewed the points and he still beat me easily. The point difference isn't to punish the skilled but to challenge their prowess. Even odds may be fun for them, but definitely not a challenge.

it is a hard balancing act. Being on top, and seeing how hard it is with say 3 small frigates vs 2 lights and a heavy, and knowing you most likely will lose that one. What makes it worse is that if I lose that one, I lose 1/3 of my total fleet of 9 frigates. I, being at the top, would have nothing to fall on but MORE FRIGATES. I would suggest a possible fix to this as: 1-Homeworld fleet, ALL players get say 500 points and 2 of those ships must stay at the homeworld. 2-all other fleets, the advanced players get say 600 for their 6 ships while non-skilled players get say 900.

average can get say 750 for other fleets, just a matter of adjustments.

If I play in the next campaign, What would players suggest I run, i.e. given my playing style, few strengths, and many weaknesses, what race would I stand the best chance of surviving with? I await any and all advice

The overall most all round race is the FEDS. All the other races have defiencies to deal with, as well as advantages. Most of all, stick with a race you know.
