Nice chart, and exactly why many of the rich do not want Obama and why they DO want McCain. I dunno... Ugly future for America economically in my view.

It is only ugly if this trend continues and the rich continue getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. What is worriesome to me,.. is that this trend is accelerating and the disparity is growing faster now than ever before. Roman you and I will not live long enough,.. but if this trend continues for another 50-100 years,.. then you will something interesting occur. Unfortunalty the rich (and I include corperations in this "Rich" title) influence politics and end up writting legislation. So they basically are writting the rules. Many countries have done this in the past,.... and the results have not been pretty. "Let them eat Cake" Marie Antwonette - before she lost her head. Here is oil and coals influence on Gov,.. thinkprogress.org/wonkroom/2008/08/19/coal-and-oil-unite/#comment-2032This one is funny- thinkprogress.org/wonkroom/2008/08/19/top-01-percent-will-get-nearly-1-million-tax-cut-from-mccain/

Pay not taxes,..... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Um I am not sure what planet you live on but I made those amounts "much" of my life,.. and I paid plenty of taxes. Also some people like single women raising a child can actually get a refund when they have paid no taxes. I dated a women like that,.. earned income credit I think it was called. Anyways I bet just about everyone on this forum who lives in the US can agree that when they made little money like 18,000 a year and even less,.... they sure as hell paid taxes on it. You bet they did. Just look up the d**n tax code,.. there is a huge forum in which you calculate your income total vrs what you owe. It is not zero owed if made 15,000. If needed I will post that chart too! Christ warp you have to look at that very table/forum every d**n year you do your taxes !!! Something tells me you do not do (you pay someone too) your own taxes. Matter of fact I know it,.. cause you have to use the d**n table if you did! It is folks like you who say this stuff that really irks me. You propagate false info, like much of Fox news and the GOP in general. Here is the table en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Income_tax_in_the_United_States#Year_2007_income_brackets_and_tax_ratesSorry in advance if I sound heated but it really is a concern what is occuring and the false and bogus ideals that are spread about our society by those who have in our world. I am comfortable in life have a good job own my own home and have no real money worries but I still clearly see what is going on.

By the way those "liberal" blogs quote,... government sources. Think Progress is highly acclaimed and is repeated fact checked by republican hate mongers who wish to bury it. It has won many awards for it factual journalism.
Next you will be telling me Wilkipedia is a liberal source of info to ??

AGREE, one of the names is OLIGARCHY I believe, LOL. Hey while I count myself as an Independant with conservative when it comes to some things (National Defense) and Liberal on others (ie Domestic, Economy) leanings, I have learned that friends who are of oppositePolitical alignments should NEVER talk about Politics...Just agree to disagree. I hope we all as (presumably) Americans agree with the freedom to believe what you want, but not to inflict it on others. I hope I in no way inflamed anyone. Vote your conscience and beliefs, its your right payed for in blood, sweat, and tears! If we can be honest here, I feel both parties and politicians in gereral have fallen down on the job and far abandoned us all. To our Canadian and Uruguayan friends, democracy...its a pregnant dog ain't it?

LOL well Death & Taxes right? The funniest part of all these conversations is. That "WE THE PEOPLE" truly have no say in the taxing of our income by the Federal government. We can elect whoever we wish either party. And it will not change a thing. Taxes will continue to grow. Just as the federal Government does. That is the nature of government they grow and grow . Until they become too large a burden on the populace. Then they fall. and the cycle starts all over again. NO government lasts forever. Rome fell. Greece fell, the Chinese empires fell , the Ottoman empire fell, Communist Russia fell, Etc... And despite ALL governments propaganda life will go on without them. Thomas Jefferson hit it closest to the mark when he said "Government is a "necessary evil" Maybe one day mankind will mature enough that each and everyone of us learns to take care of themselves and just help those who need it. But until then "Necessary Evil" will continue. leading to discussions , such as those above. I don't mean to preach just giving a view. In closing i would have to say John Lennon had it right in his song "imagine" Or maybe Alfred E Newman "what me worry?"

Awesome! "Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely"Origin
Lord ActonThis arose as a quotation by John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton, first Baron Acton (1834–1902). The historian and moralist, who was otherwise known simply as Lord Acton, expressed this opinion in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887: "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."
Another English politician with no shortage of names - William Pitt, the Elder, The Earl of Chatham and British Prime Minister from 1766 to 1778, is sometimes wrongly attributed as the source. He did say something similar, in a speech to the UK House of Lords in 1770:
"Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it"SOURCE: Al Gore...Uh, I mean www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/288200.html

"Reflect how you are to govern a people who think they ought to be free, and think they are not. Your scheme yields no revenue; it yields nothing but discontent, disorder, disobedience; and such is the state of America, that after wading up to your eyes in blood, you could only end just where you begun; that is to tax where no revenue is to be found, to -- my voice fails me; my inclination indeed carries me no farther -- all is confusion beyond it."
-- Edmund Burke in his speech to British Parliament on American Taxation, April 1774 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tyranny is the exercise of power beyond right ... Wherever the power, that is put in ... hands for government of the people, and the preservation of their properties, is applied to other ends, and made use of to impoverish, harass, or subdue them to the arbitrary and irregular commands of those that have it; there it presently becomes tyranny..."
-- John Locke
