First off, Scott, I did not post the results, the REF did, so dont go thinking I had anything to do with it, no slippery slope ON MY PART. ANY deception you perceive, is from the REF, not me. Secondly, I agree with Todd on his last post. perhaps the base being destroyed should have been reported, but it was not built, as I had stated in my previous posts. I also dont know what changes about the base being build you want added.

Thanks I did not even know who made that post, sometimes you put the results up and do not even look at them, done that been there.
The base is really a debate, and that is not to me what matters. That is a tricky call that I leave to the Ref. The rules do not handle that issue so Shalafi must create it on the fly.
What matters is that there was an ISC vessel along with the Lyran ships, involved in the battle that was not identified. The posting hides the fact that it was a multinational battle. I would love to hear this incorrect and maybe I am in the dark on what occurred,... as the Mimbari player,.. that may well be the case.
Much of all the players diplomacy is based on what nations are fighting together, hidding this is not abidding by the rules of public battles.
My appologies if I am misinterpreting what I am reading in the above posts. My knowledge, like many, seems to be in the dark about really occurred at this battle.
My guess is the Ref made a Boo Boo on the post ?
Lets guess that,.. and put it to rest.

I think the nations were mentioned, title said Warp and D'Fly. I guess my question would be, can a science vessle build a base? Again, at this stage it does not matter. I do not think D'fly intended any deception. We all fly under the code. I guess it is just questions for us to ask if we want to add them or not to the rules for next time.

as the rules stand, you need a ship in a hex to build a base. there is nothing stating what type of ship, just that you own the ship

Again, I'm not trying to split hairs but I thought they say it must be a warship. Would a science vessel count as a warship? I guess it is open to how you view it. I for one will stop posting here as my intention is not to question the motives but to point were a rule needs to be (or not) made clearer.

understood, and i would like to mention that I did ask to make sure I could build a base, before I started to build it.

it was a mistake on my part about not being more explicit about the base... brain probably went something like OH battle.... what's involved... this ship, this ship,,, this ship.... ect... and skipped over the base cause it was being built.
It doesn't matter what starts building the base there are no restrictions on the ships.
