I started sending the word out and we can review any applicants for entry into the crew.
Players should do the same, a good reference is a nice thing !

Scott, Will you be capable of sending me a usable grid map. I will set up the borders and planets. With a larger player pool, I would need a large map- rectangular would work fine

Not likely as I no longer work at OSV where I had access to the posterboard, gigantic printer, etc.
Although I will cozy up to the graphics department here at Elms and see what they might be able to do. I happened to meet the lady yesterday and we laughed about Bush for a while, so working on it already.
You can always do what I did early on. Get the map image on disk or floppy and bring it to a Kinkos or any print place ask how much to enlarge it up(players can pitch in, this used to be like 40$) and print it for you. Mount that on cardboard. Then I would go to a craft shop and get this clear, sticky, plastic laminate sheet. Peel off the back and adhere it to the map (once I even just coated it in clear packing tape). Buy dry erase markers in all different colors. The you can then write all over the thing and erase with a finger tip.
I used to do like two turns worth of orders with arrows and little dots to show how many ships in each fleet, asterick for scout, PI for a fleet in that mode, different color for each nation. After a while wipe down the whole thing down and start again.
Ya it is a lot, but boy it makes turn resolution easier !!
I can set no time on my ability to get anything from Elms so start with a backup plan.
I do suggest a better map. The numbering system on Pirates sucks. could use some improvement. I will find a base for you that is better or maybe Blade can help.

Your maps were better, that is why I asked. If anyone has a simple map they could e-mail me or send me to a site, I would appreciate it greatly

We will send you a program and you can begin to play with it. Over time you will get good at making your own maps. That is how I started.
For now, have you played with Microsoft Paint. You should it is easy and a good first get your feet wet app for beginners. Save the old B5 map to your drive, (right click and save) then open it with paint program,.. then add nebula and more asteroids, etc.
Jasc Paint Shop Pro is what I will ship you, that has more features than a Romulan under cloak !!
