Yes Josh, Da Cheese speaks the truth.
This game is already well underway with planning stages and cannot accept excessive numbers of new players, I have heard maybe 18!!. The map, start fleets and ref structure would have to be redone.
It is amazing that this number of folks are interested and all of us take great pride in the fact that these new players are interested. The Cugs crew has created quite the Buzz here with our memebers.
Currently our turn resolution is hand done on a master map with erase markers tracking fleets (Bless George for his hard work). So it is all by hand. There is a project well under way in which this system will be automated, but it is only in its testing stages now. This would be similar to how William Schramm does his.
For now though there must be a cap on the new players from your crew who are let in.
Because you know them all, maybe that should be your call. We could also do it randomly. Or it could have been those who showed interest first.
What we seek is players dedicated enough to turn in orders and be present for battles. As an extra it would be nice for them to be active on the message boards and involved in the game more than just a mystery name hidding in the depths of cyber space.
What we do not want is folks who take things too seriously and get upset over a game. We are a fun loving crew and desire only the cream of the crop in our games. Folks that fly off the handle on the forums are not welcome here.
We will welcome as many players as we can with open arms and a brotherly attitude. I look forward to getting to know each of you and already am familiar with some of the names mentioned earlier.
