From Background.doc
Several months ago an Earth Alliance research vessel traveling in hyperspace (the space that jump drives use to travel in) detected a small ship adrift. The research vessel dragged it in and turned back for home to conduct a through search of the ship. When it arrived back at Proxima Colony the research team realized what they had lucked into. The ship they had found was a large chunk of a Vorlon military transport. The researchers were amazed and tried to access its computers. Unfortunately the computers were long gone, but there was a trapped safe. (A couple of disintegrated researchers later) they opened the safe and discovered a small device. They started trying to decrypt its data but ran into a brick wall. After months of trying a researcher finally managed to get a single document out of the device, all it had was a set of co-ordinates.

Regarding this:
The Earth Alliance announces that it will be sharing this information with any and all nations. Furthermore the fragment of the Vorlon ship is on route for delivery to Babylon 5 via a EA battle fleet. Any nation that wants may inspect the fragment in person if they visit the station with a vessel. Further research on the object may reveal even more info as we have seen instances of this in the past, where prolonged study has resulted in breakthoughs.

The Earth Alliance fleet has arrived at Babylon 5 carrying the Vorlon artifact creating quite a stir at the station. Babylon 5 being the rumor mill it is, has generated the following info that has circulated far and wide very quickly. The artifact was discovered in hex 0622, and Doctor Franklin has dated it at around 100,000 years old!

Note that is hex H0622 not 1622, as in Hyperspace.
What the hell my EA ships were doing out there is anyones guess. I mean they got lost yes that is IT! Lost they were and barely found their way home I say.
Dangerous place that Hyperspace !
