I did not think the repair rule would be such a debatable point. We tried it this time and next time may not be there. I believe the Ref running the campaign should have say with input from the players. This has and always will be a good part of our campaigns. Live and learn

I say we should wait more in this campaign before we say YaY or NaY ot the repair on planet rules. NO ONE has used them in any other campaign, and certainly we have not been able to test it out much yet as no one has done it yet(by turn 5). Let's give it a chance to see how it pans out first. BTW, as of right now, since it has not been tested yet, I would vote yes to keep it. After I see how it works I reserve the right to change my mind.(dang, I sound like a woman).

Proposal for teams game.
If the flag ship carrying the race leader is destroyed a new player assumes the role of RL. The flagship is any ship that the RL is on.
The assention of the new RL is decided by the players on the team ? Which could result in some interesting situations,..
Just a thought for all to ponder.

I was thinking more like if he was killed in battle with the enemy then another player would take the helm. Might make folks think twice about committing the Flag beast ship with admiral onboard.
I did not mean to imply folks on his team should try to kill him. That is a fast way to put the entire team on the losing end. I would be hard pressed to think any player I know would try for this and likely damage or destroy 2 fleets for a title. SPeciall if after players decide the new admiral. Likely the butt head who did this would garner his fellow teamates vote.
I think your ideal of a War of Roses is way off the mark.

no... war of the roses started when one of the kings died without an heir... aka everyone and their dog scrambled for the throne

In the last couple of months. The subject of capturing ships was raised. I for one would like to see some play-testing .To see if this is feasible. And if so if we would care to add this to our games. There were other changes mention here . We have time to test some of the changes ,or possible changes. I would propose using the usual Sunday / Monday practice toward accomplishing these goals.

Sounds good although I think Dfly already tested this and for some reason it was rejected, though I cannot remember the details.
I would like it if it could be done.
Was it only the last ship in battle can actually be captured ? Otherwise control of the ship gets screwy ? Dfly?

sSome more testing would have to be done on this. It does allow captures, but the biggest problem is that the guy captured usually does not realize he has been captured, and then hits certain controls on his ship, which will crash him, and usually the game(due to usually 2 players). The guy doing the capturing will state he captured you, but you dont beleive he did and that only the game crashed. The guy captured actually crashed the game by trying to enter commands no longer accepted by his lost ship. That has been the biggest problem so far. The records from Sector Assault clearly show a capture, but If I remember right the damage allocation may be off, not sure. I would have to test it again to refresh my memory on this.
Perhaps another way to enter captures into the game is: IF it is a 3v1, and any of the 3 ships is larger than the 1, and the 1 tries to roll for disengagement, it could roll badly and actually get captured instead of having to battle(say a 1 in 6 chance?). Just a thought.

I've done some involved testing with it... from what I have gathered... the only way you can capture a ship without the game going apes**t is if you capture the LAST ship on a side...
