Hey, all I got is Byzantine Iconoclasm (not a disease) and the Glorious Un-Holy Crusades to finish out. Saving Horseback-riding and more military history grad courses for better weather.

Hey, I'll take that course! English and American history is my specialty but I can handle most histories. The more distant the better

Poles tried to stop them in 1241 at the Battle of Legnica. Mongol force met, fought, feigned retreat from and then destroyed a Polish and European Cavalry/ Infantry mixed force. The mistake of the Poles, got suckered into charging after the retreating Mongols and so separated from their infantry support. However, this battle supposedly ground down the Mongol invasion and so they left western Europe along. Many historians think 25000-100000 Mongols vs. 25,000 Poles and Teutonic Knights (rumored).
