Thanks Scott. Several good ideas. I like the leader picking idea. Still alot of life left in this one, so we have time yet

Lets be careful in the recruiting. Where as new blood, is nice and there are good people, out there to recruit. I think maybe it should be done by referral type system. Not just an "open" invitation, to join in our group. I was lucky in that i first saw this group mentioned on my old fleets web page. And i thank everyone here for allowing me to be a part of this group. There are probably plenty ,of both new and experienced people. We could recruit to play with us. Just through our own acquaintances. Plus size most be considered. The more players we add, the more difficult it will become to run our turns . {IE} the pace will most likely be slowed.

One item i would like to see is a team email or message board setup. To let each team keep track of it's progress. And of course a common board for both teams.

Hm, seems to like my message was perceived incorrectly, I am not saying that open invitations are a bad thing. I was just trying to point out perhaps if we use a referral system we will not get too large a group. My fear of crowds must be raising it's head again . Never meant to offend anyone .

Agreed folks the risk of bringing in new blood is the blood is tainted (GREEN !! ) But I think that is a risk every Ref takes when he advertises. Yet without sending out the invite, these games may have ceased. Personally I am thankful for all of you continueing the fun of a game I love (Except Mavrick, who sits on the core ) LOL Sure Referal is the best way to go, and now we can be selective on who we take. It is always just a good ideal to add a player here and there when possible. I am not saying take on 4 guys from the 9th Fleet or anything. Many times you can add them as a test player, like Postman and Mav were in the B5 game. There are many ways and things to do to check out folks. Heck I had Dfly evaluating most of you before I even knew who the heck you were. The bigger our crew the stronger our run will be. It will end, just when ? Advertising was the best thing I think I ever did, I would be hesitant to ever dismiss it. Size can be moderated. In the day each player ran a nation,.. as our size grows the next game we each run fleets in a nation. That is not bad just a way of handling more players. This upcoming game will be a breeze for players and Ref. 2 teams is dynamite for the Ref,.. trust me on this !! This will be a much easier game for George to run,.. imagine only 2 nations to track building on,... EP transfers HAH,... all that crap a ref takes care of is out the door. We could have 20 players ,... NO problem !!

if we do run a teams game next would it be possible to have the refs send each team a status report of ships lost, sites lost/ gained, evp etc.. because if the team play is run . The battles and moves of a team that are run may present quite a challenge to the leaders to keep track of.

Yes keeping order of a motley crew such as ourselves will be a mighty challenge to anyone. Especially when each sub commander has free reign on his orders.
I just want to throw this out there again.
The ideal of writting more detailed EP rules (for the Production Admiral?) may seem cool but it usually means more paperwork and errors.
With 6 players on a team it is a natural and nice set up for a 1,2,3 command structure
1x Race leader ( DN Flag fleet, "Mish fleet/Scout/base buster/internal security or/repair fleet", BATS homeworld defense fleet, maybe a fourth fleet cause he is god) 2x Sector/Base commanders ( BATS Base fleet, BC flag crusier fleet, Mish fleet see above ) 3x frontline Admirals ( 2x frontline CA combat fleets, CC flag fleet, maybe a BS )
27 ship units a side,
I know this does not jive with your smaller ship units ideal and I forget the name of the Freighter Admiral George but just think about it is all.

Let's see, 27 ships. Restrict it to a minimum of smaller ships built/bigger shipbuild, such as 4 Frigs per LC, 4 LC per HC, 4 CH per DN. that means 1 DN, 4 HC, 16 LC, and 64 Frigs. Sounds about right but too much for 27 sooooo,....................32 frigs, hmm, to much. okklll.....16 frigs, 4 LC, 1 HC. There is 21 to start, but if you want, go with a 3 number instead, therefore: 18 FF, 6 LC, 2 HC. There is 26, with a tossed in DN for the leader = 27. Knew I took math for some reason.
