It would take a persona of extreme dedication,.. one of unbelievable talent, and ruthlessness to track all the ships but think about it. (thinks in back of head,........ Dfly) We have the player base now to do it. www.porterdavid.com/febasemap.htmPS I did it back in the day,.. Fed had about 90 ships, Klingons 110+ course back then we had 6 ship stacks and AI was always used for the extra 3 ships in the fleet. LOL That is when we all learned how ,... odd AI can be LOL It could always be scaled down and maybe set as nations transit from Early to Mid era,..

Anyone dedicated enough to resolve those turns is fine by me.
Note that is a lot of work.

I'm guessing the question went something like " would you like to play a campaign where there are 6 ship stacks in which the AI has a significant part in determining the outcome." If that is the question I would say no ...as involving the AI would take the spark out of the game for me anyway.

juding from the link i would guess it has some type of a more convential, type campaign. Along the lines of the fed vs klingon . In which case i would be intrested indeed.

although personally we usually have a large enough crowd that we wouldn't have to use the AI to control the other ships as much ( well each player would have one AI wing)

No that is not what I meant, I have never been a fan of AI in all the years gaming with this crew. I was just commenting on the sillyness of what we did way back in the day
I was also not saying 6 ship stacks is what I wanted either.
I was just throwing out a basic ideal and hoping people would start to consider discussing what will come down the road. It is early but these sorta thoughts can be hashed out over the next several months.

right.... honestly 6 ship stacks wouldn't be too much more difficult to do if you Make people organize their orders forms ie. if a stack is moving together the entire turn group them together and put a space between them and any other ships... and put individual ships on their own lines ... ect... hardest thing i've found from doing orders is when ships that are moving in groups are spread out over the entire sheet still in their "orignal" groups.... shuffle them around people lol those fleets aren't set

and to think the funnest campaigns I have done had 9 ship stack limits. Each pilot had to fly up to 3 ships.

Having played now for like years with 3
Maybe more would be a refreshing change.
My only worry is it further expands the gap between the ace pilots and green. Although even that is debatable as AI is all equal,.. sorta LOL

To use a historical map,...... historical fleets (well best the ref can put together), etc.
Rather than a made up map, universe (B5), ships, etc.
We go with a Hysterical campaign!
Mostly I was hoping to get folks to think about what is to come and voice some ideals. I am sure over the next 6- 12 months many ideals will be floated out there.

I would really like to see a more conventional campaign with no more than 3 ship stack limits. One that uses historical map and races is perfect. In addition using the original shiplist or 4.0 would be great with the absence of the ultra powerful B5" ships like the vorlon, swar, ..... there are many other examples. As a side note it was mentioned by someone that "My only worry is it further expands the gap between the ace pilots and green....." I wish to dispute this idea that there is a gap between the supposed Ace players and the rest. Currently in this campaign virtually any B5 race can come and crush me and I could do little about it. I think this is true for other "ace" pilots as well. The difference in the ships given to me and most any B5 race is extreme. Others may dispute this but as God is my witness it is true. Even if you take all of the original ships I had at the beginning I have no chance against the EA with a swar etc or the Narn with DN, BC, CA fleets. When you say there is a gap between some and others the facts do not bear this out. If anything the supposed "ace" pilots have been put at too much of a disadvantage to even be competitive. I can not even build ships that are capable of competing with the swar etc...so there it is I have bared my soul. I await a B5 race to come and put me out of my misery......probably not the best tactical decision I have made of late LOL
